Berry Gordy was stunned to discover that this was the case with Stevie Wonder. Berry Gordy was able to agree with Stevie Wonder's demands for greater autonomy, full creative control, and rights to his songs. Stevie Wonder signed a 13 million dollars MoTown Records contract in 1972. Stevie Wonder was entitled to higher royalty rates, more creative control, and rights over his songs. This was a rare opportunity for artists at that time. The agreement allowed Wonder's music to talk about controversial issues like poverty, war, drugs as well as politics.Stevie is known for his political songs , such as You Haven't Done Nothing, that took a political swipe at Richard Nixon. His 1972 album, Music Of My Mind was the first to be released under his new MoTown agreement. Talking Book was Stevie Wonder's album from late in 1972. It is still a significant piece music. The album included Superstition the most popular hit single.
